Q: Itunes hangs on accessing itunes store and other problems

I haven't been able to connect to the Itunes store for over a month on my new desktop. I have tried the DNS flush and everything else recommended in the forums. When I try to login to the Itunes store continually says "accessing Itunes Store" but it never moves beyond that after hours. Additionally, Itunes hangs in step 2 of 5 "Backing Up" and never progresses to step 3.

I recently bought a new computer. Can my trouble be at all related to the Iphone having some preferences associated with the old computer?

This is extremely frustrating. Any help would be most appreciated.

iPhone 4, Windows 7

I'm having the same problem.  Winsock reset resolved the CPU usage problem but not the iTunes store problem.  When I run autoruns, it shows Bonjour, and a few dozen LAYERED_PROVIDERs with no publisher listed.

    Would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks...this worked for me. I had sent an email to Apple support and the tech's answer didn't provide me with any help. My second email was not responded to Searching through the internet I found this thread. Perhaps the techs who answer emails should be versed in helping with this problem Thanks again!

I am on WinXP SP3. When I try to download files from iTunes it hangs and even the OS cannot be rebooted. I had to hold down the power button.

I tried all the solutions here and elsewhere to no avail. The fix for me was to turn of simultaneous downloads.

Apple: Making iTunes a total piece of crap is not going to force me to buy a Mac so give it up already. And since it is so terrible why would I buy an iPhone to be hassled by this worthless piece of crap called iTunes.

    Hi Wiclee,

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

    This worked perfectly!

Up until I found your fix I have spent 3 hours searching on how to fix this issue and also spent 30min with Apple support and they didnt know how to fix it.

    Thank you again,
