Orchestral pieces originally created using Creator sound rubbish in Logic 9. Legato etc no longer exist, many of the notes are lacking the orchestral expression that was there originally.

Does anyone know how I can get this sorted, without replaying all of the parts again.

Hopefully, thanks in advance.

Are you using the same sound source (synth keyboard/module) as when you created the sequences?

This is likely to be caused by the fact that different libraries use different methods/controllers for different types of expression. Nothing to do with Logic itself...

You might be able to remap the old expression controllers to the ones the new libraries use though typically that is not that successful because of how the different methods and amounts of expression are utilized within the sample libraries themselves.

No i'm not, i'm using East West and Vienna Symphonic library. It is still bad even with Logic 9 EXS 24.

The phrases sound a bit like a disk played backwards.

I'm curious what your original sound source was when you created the sequences?

Well, the point is that, if you did stuff in the nineties with various synth modules or keyboards, the basic Control Changes that were generally understood at the time are pretty much as they are now (like Modulation - No.1 - or Volume - No.7) - if you've used the Expression controller (No.11), it doesn't necessarily mean that any particular other hardware , or indeed, software instrument responds in exactly the same way - they behave according to the the way the developers think might be a logical one that somebody using it might be able to use.

I've draggged stuff up from the past on the odd occasion - you always have to adapt it to the way you're thinking now.

Ok, Make Sure you have real time quantization set to Off on all of the MIDI tracks you've imported.

Select one of the tracks in question, look to the upper left corner of the two arrange page channel strips. On this graphic it says "1/16th-note"

"Click and hold" the mouse over the numbers and select Off 3840 at the bottom of the pop-up selection box.

Do this for all tracks involved, see if that helps.
