I can't access I photo via I cloud. It won't let me select this so would suggest that I photo is not open on my laptop. What do I need to do please. Thanks

MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Your question is not at all clear

iClound is not a place that you ever access iPhoto from - it is an online storage palce that you can use to display photos (shared Photostreams), move photos between IOS devices and Macs (PhotoStreams), backup up IOS devices and view PhotoStream photos

Maybe you are talking about PhotoStream - your profile says you have OS X 10.6.8 - PS is not available for that version of the OS - you need OS X 10.7.4 and iPhoto 9.2 minimum for Photostream

Did you read the article you came here form? THe first paragraph says

    My Photo Stream

My Photo Stream is an iCloud service where you can view your recent photos on all of your devices. This Photo Stream feature requires OS X Lion v10.7.2 (or later) and iPhoto 9.2 (or later) or Aperture 3.2 (or later).
