Q: My Firewire port is not working: Is that a Hardware or Software issue? any suggestions?

Greetings Everybody,

I bought this Imac to use it only with audio applications and now I can't use my UAD -2 Duo Satellite because MAC OS tells me that "

No FireWire ports were found" Does any know how to deal with this problem?

Do a smc reset, Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)

If that doesn't fix it then it is a hardware problem.

I'll contact Mac Support here in Brazil. That's bad for a computer that has been mostly used for recording, editing, mixing audio. ... I'm disapointed with the computer...

Well, after reading I will contact apple's 0800 in Brazil and see where I can send this "thing" to repair.... desapointed very disapointed

But I'm very thankful for both of you (LowLuster) for your time and attention
