I keep trying to retore from a iCloud backup and it gets about 80-90% done and says failed because I am disconnected from the internet. I tried to restore from this back up 4 times wuile with Century Link internet. Then I switched to Comcsat internet and I am still having the same problem. Why does it get this far and then quit because the internet is dropping. I am pretty sure that the internet doesnt really drop.
I'm not sure why no one addressed your post, but I am having the same issue as well..
this is not my first time restoring the iOS and restoring my Settings & Content from my iCloud backup.. i've successfully completed this task multiple times and with multiple devices, however, last night was the first time I started getting the error message that restore failed-internet connection lost! I've gotten this 2wice already.. luckily I also created an iTunes backup but I believe the iCloud backup contains different data, and after restoring from the iTunes backup, it restored my photos which I didn't want to happen and it actually restored the defect/issue I was trying to get rid of in the first place! (erroneous photo IDs for contacts)..
after a brief internet search, folks are reporting that to resolve this 'internet connection lost' issue during iCloud restore process, one must keep tapping the screen (yes for 3+hours) to prevent the screen from going dark and the phone from potentially going to sleep.. when I get home from work I'll give this a try, but I REALLY want to know what happened?/why is this happening now? As I said before, I've gone through this process multiple times and not once have I had to prevent the screen from going dark so as to not get an error message...?!?!

Don't sync anything the time you find your iPhone data lost, otherwise, your backup file will be overwritten and your data will be no longer come back.
Then, download iPhone Data Recovery to help you.

Haven't found the data from your iOS device and the iTunes backup file? There is the third way: Recover from your iCloud backup. It enables you to preview and recover all data in your iCloud backup. Therefore, don't backup your device with iCloud immediately when you find data loss.
