Apr 27, 2013 6:31 PM in response to jbk224bamacophileby John Galt,When it worked reliably, was your office Mini configured to sleep in System Preferences > Energy Saver, and if so, did it wake upon attempting to connect to it from home?
What kind of router do you use in your office - an Apple AirPort, or some other variety?
How is it connected - Wi-Fi, or Ethernet?
I presume all OS X updates are installed, that you are running OS X 10.7.5 (not 10.7.2 in your profile), and that no anti-virus or similar utilities are installed.

Apr 27, 2013 6:52 PM in response to John Galtby jbk224bamacophile,John, here goes:
Yes, configured to wake up and always did so.
I have ethernet connected directly into Airport Extreme Base Station and Mac Mini connected via Ethernet cable. Also running wifi for an iMac and other access.
All OS X updates installed. Running 10.8.3. Had Little Snitch recently installed, but turned off to check to see if this a problem.
Not able to connect 1 hour ago. Now able to connect. Crazy.
Thanks for your help.

Apr 27, 2013 7:39 PM in response to jbk224bamacophileby John Galt,OK thanks. Back to My Mac is subject to the vagaries of iCloud, so perhaps it was a temporary anomaly.

May 5, 2013 7:14 AM in response to John Galtby jbk224bamacophile,John, so it's ben another week and the problem persists. I still have not figured this out. When in the office, on my Mac Mini, I can access my laptop at home when left on. But not the other way around.

May 5, 2013 9:17 AM in response to jbk224bamacophileby John Galt,Is the office Mini visible in a Finder Sidebar, under "Shared"?

May 5, 2013 2:01 PM in response to jbk224bamacophileby Eric Root,At an obscure place in the second link, it states you have to have a WiFi connection. On my iMac, it would show as on, but couldn't locate it until I turned the WiFi on even though it was connected via ethernet.

May 5, 2013 3:11 PM in response to Eric Rootby jbk224bamacophile,Sound interesting. I'll check that out.
In the meantime, I just logged on my laptop; and guess what? My Mac Mini is showing up in the sidebar under 'Shared' even though it was not doing so all week! This is crazy. I wouldn't mind if I know what was going on.

... for Find my Mac, yes, but the OP is asking about Back to My Mac.
Is the link you posted what you intended? If so, what is the reason you believe it is related to BTMM?
What is the obscure place?
