Q: I want to avoid all charges while travelling
I've gone to Settings --> Carrier and turned 'automatic' off, but when I return to the main settings screen, my iPhone has selected a carrier. It keeps doing this ... there doesn't seem to be a way for it to ignore cellular carriers in the area. I don't want any charges to my bill while I'm travelling. How do I get it to stop? (B.t.w. I have Data Roaming off, Wi-Fi off, Bluetooth off and Personal Hotspot off.)
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks!

It would probably best for you if you turned airplane mode on, and that would stop your phone from trying to connect to other carriers and put you in roaming. If you turn airplane mode on while traveling, avoid using your cellular connect because its going to use data while roaming and your phone bill will go high up xD . Use wifi when needed. Hope I helped mate. Cheers
