Q: can you save files to your ipad

I see this a common question. I understand the saving is done via the specific app. So what is the best for working with documents. I run NeoOffice on my desktop, what is a good one for the Ipad, and what is a good free one to try before I buy a different one.

May 13, 2013 2:30 PMby nsdjoey,I use Office2HD on my iPad and love it. Its only $7.99 and works great to view and/or edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint docs. I use the Dropbox integration so that everything is saved in the cloud. I can start a document at my desk on my computer and work on it on my iPad when I'm out of the office…then go back to my desk later and see the changes.
If you are looking for free, I'd start by using Google apps. You can create word processing documents, presentations, and spreadsheets very similar to NeoOffice docs. Then download the free Google Drive app. You'll be able to work off the cloud on both your desktop computer and iPad... and its all free.

May 26, 2013 11:20 PMby MATT BANEY,I would like to use my iPad while travelling to some rather remote areas, and there will probably be many days where I have NO internet connection or any access to the "cloud", with these iPad apps will I still be able to create and edit spreadsheets and text documents and save them locally on the ipad?
I would also like to be able to edit html files locally on my ipad and then view them with a browser, is that possible with no internet connection?
I would like to use my ipad as a single travel computer, and don't really care whats on the "cloud", I will use an internet connection for email and web browsing, but would like other documents to be stored locally on the ipad (spreadshets, text documents, etc)..

I also found one called Textastic Code Editor. It is $8.99 but looks like a fantastic app. The video on their website is pretty cool. If I was doing a lot of HTML editing on the go this is the app that I would get: http://www.textasticapp.com/
