Hi,

I had 8 photos and 1 video on my iPad.  Downloaded them to my iMac into iPhoto.  The problem is that the pictures are fine, but the video comes up with the arrow and will not play.  When i put it on the desktop, it came up as a picture, but when it was in iPad it was in video format.

Does anyonbe know what I did, or need to do.  I thought that videos put into iPhoto, played as a video.  This one does not.  Any help would be appreciated.  Where do I down load videos too on my iMac.

Thanks

Alf

What version of iPhoto do you have?

When i put it on the desktop

    How did you do this?

    To export a Movie:

File -> Export and set the Kind to Original

    This User Tip

    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4921

has details of the options in the Export dialogue.

    Terence,

Basically here is the deal. I'm running iPhoto 11 Ver. 9.4.3   I had 8 photos and one video on my iPad.  I transfered all of this to my iMac.  Version Mountain Lion.  In iPhoto now, all the pictures are there, but the video comes up as .PNG

Just wondering if there is a way to get this to run as a video?  Would you know in the future how to make sure when I transfer videos from an iPad, they will come into iPhoto as videos.

    Thanks for your help.

A png is not a video, it's a still image format.

How did you get it from the iPad to iPhoto?

Plugged iPad into iMac and it was transferred into iPhoto.  My guess is that somehow, I missed something somewhere.  I guess if I shoot videos again with my iPad, I do not want the same thing to happen.

Just trying to figure out how the video ran in my iPad, but nothing now.  Kind of unusual.  Of course, I deleted the video from my ipad...no biggie, just want to make sure I do it right next time
