What other type of device are you trying to find his iPod on?

    Hi Gail,

I'm using my Macbook as well as my iphone 5.

His ipod is set to his own icloud account and as I say when I log into his icloud, I can access his emails, calendar etc, however the 'find my phone' tab doesn't locate any devices.

    Thanks,

    Seal

Hi again, I have also tried using the app 'Find my iphone' from the app store loaded on my iphone and ipad.

I log into his icloud account and still I get 'No Devices' and then instructs me to 'Setup Instructions' which are just to set up an icloud account (which is already active).

Yet when using the same app on his ipod, his own ipod finds his device.

I just don't get what is happening.

    Thanks,

    Seal

    Hi Seal,

And the Mac is connected to Wifi? Also, when you say the Find My iPhone "tab" doesn't locate any devices, want to make sure that you mean the Find My iPhone icon on the iCloud website on the Mac:

And when you click on the Find My iPhone app, you are not seeing anything at all under Devices:

Just want to make sure we are on the same page....

OK, another question. When you say you are logging onto his iCloud account, are you deleting your own iCloud account on your devices, and then signing on to his?

I'm presuming that on the Mac, when you bring up the iCloud website, you are signing on to his iCloud ID?

On the devices, are you deleting your iCloud account and then logging his on?

Also, is your Mac connected to Wifi?

Yes, everything is connected to the same wifi.  I have all devices here with me now. The find my iphone is working from the mac to locate my mac, phone and ipad (when I was using my icloud account previously.)          I had also previously updated the software on the ipod to the latest IOS 6.1.3

OK, well not sure why, once you sign onto iCloud with his ID it is not showing his devices. Here is a troubleshooting article that may help:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4006

There must be a missing piece somewhere - I'm just not sure where it is at this point....

    Hope this article can help!

    Hi Gail,

    Thanks for your help.

I've just been through the article and have already 'ticked' all those boxes.

The location services are working on the phone, and as I say the app 'find my phone' works on the ipod itself to find itself (again, not much help when it is lost) however i can't get it on any other devices, yet all other icons and functions work on his icloud account when accessed from my devices.

Thanks again, I just don't get it either.

    Seal.
