yep, I too am having the problem. Tried new batteries, all to no avail!
This happened after the imac was shut down, and then restarted.

Hi did you fix this problem? I have it too, can't access settings etc as I can't type my password in to get there! Have checked batteries & tried to reboot with no luck. Do not have a USB keyboard either to get in that way

I am having the same problem. I can't bypass the login without the keyboard working. It was working fine but after I updated the IMac operating system and restarting the computer, the keyboard is not working!

I've just had this issue.
I solved it by switching the Bluetooth off on my iPad which has previously (a long, long time ago) been paired with my keyboard.
It appears that somehow the keyboard paired with the iPad and so the iMac couldn't recognise it.

I resolved this issue as well. I connected a keyboard with USB connection. I logged in to the computer and set up the Bluetooth after logging in. These kinds of incidents happen often in the tech world. I just needed to have a USB keyboard handy!
