OK - I got it. But I do not see much advantage in doing all this trickery

1 trash to empty instead of 2?

    Isn't that what you wanted?

OK , issue is solved but to a high price - too much time and effort for simple tasks.

    Apple Mail is too complicated

Apparantly it is too complicated for you, find a simpler mail client.

I do not understand what is the point having two Trashes and mess arround with Preferences in order to use just one.... And I also raised other questions on Mac Mail that have not been solved.

    Bomiboll,

Sometimes in Apple Support Communities we see questions where the Original Poster is not really looking for a solution, but is just having a whinge. I hope you are not one of those. I suggest you find a mail app that is simpler for you. Mac Mail works just fine for me.

    What other questions?

    Bomiboll,

Take a look at your profile and your posts (Your Stuff).

    I repeat,

Sometimes in Apple Support Communities we see questions where the Original Poster is not really looking for a solution, but is just having a whinge. I hope you are not one of those.

Over and Out. Signing off. Goodbye.

    Yellowbox.

I have noticed that Support Communities would never admit any criticism
or complaint on a feature of the program in question (here Apple Mail)
Yellowsbox is provocative with "not really looking for solution"
After having found the solution, Yellowbox does not allow any criticism that the "solution" is not very good.
Mr Yellowbox, you need a complete change of attitude !

Apple pretty much doesn't respond publicly to anything, so if you want to hear something from Apple, you'll have to get a job there.

The implementation in Mail works correctly and is not abnormal in any way or difficult to set up.

You may have one Trash for all of your accounts (subdivided by account), or you can have a trash for every account. You can set it up how you want.

Normally, when Mail sets up an IMAP account, it maps the IMAP server Trash to the unified Trash. Same for Inbox, Junk, Drafts. If the IMAP server names those mailboxes something non-standard, they don't get integrated. I'm sure there could be other reasons why it didn't get automatically mapped, like yours.

You have failed to comprehend any of the 'accurate' advice offered by Barney or Yellowbox, it certainly does look as though you only came here to complain.

As I have no interest in that I too will leave this thread and wish you luck with your solution.

    Au revoir
