May 8, 2013 8:55 PM in response to thisdogdonthunt2013by uselessSABOTAGE,The iPhone and iPad will work great with iMovie, however they may not meet your recording needs. But from what I understand (not an iMovie expert) anything that plugs in via firewire or usb will work great with iMovie.
Hopefully somebody more experienced than me will chime in on this topic.

any AVCHD camera, as long as you do not use 1080/50p/60p (this reflects on actual iM11)

Mar 1, 2016 7:35 AM in response to thisdogdonthunt2013by machow2,if you're new to video editing on Mac, I'd strongly recommend getting a camcorder which records onto an SD card. If you've got a newer model Mac (basically anything from 2012/13 onwards, it already has an SD card slot into which you can simply put the card and copy all of the video to your Mac. With SD Card cameras, it's also cheap to upgrade your storage space too and if there's any problem transferring video from the card, you can also use a USB cable in some cases a Firewire cable. Thunderbolt connections still aren't supported by most camcorders.
