After downloading 10.8.3 from the App Store and restarting, then rebooting the OS is still 10.8.2 and 10.8.3 still shows up in the app store again. I've repeated this 3 times and it fails to take the update.

Any suggestions?

Try downloading and re-installing using the combo:

Using the combo, which incorporates all updates since 10.8.0, is often a good way at sorting out odd OS behaviour. It's OK to apply the update over your existing OS, but I'd always recommend you have reliable backup via Time Machine or a clone in the unlikely event you have problems.

    Good luck getting it fixed.
