My iPhone 4S has had these problems since early April, when Apple's servers went down. The problem is, when the servers came back up, the problems persisted.

1.     iMessages stopped working. I send a text, the text bubble is blue at first, I get an error message about it not sending, then the text bubble turns green and it goes through as a regular text.

2.     Contacts added through iPhone do not sync with my MBP.

3.     Calendar items added on iPhone do not sync with MBP, and vice versa.

4.     Passcode lock deactivated itself, although I was able to reactivate it.

5.     Cannot send or receive group texts OR iMessages anymore.

6.     When I receive individual texts, they seem to come through only in groups of two or more.

I've already rebooted the device, and when that did not work, I restored the device, to no avail.

Any suggestions?

    Howdy there David,

I was thinking about the issue you are describe and found an article that help what is going on here. It is named Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod found here http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1535.

By default, iTunes automatically syncs your entire iTunes library whenever you connect your device to your computer. On each subsequent sync, iTunes will automatically add any new music or videos to the device and remove any items that are no longer in your iTunes Library.

You can also manually manage music and videos on your device. Manually managing your device allows you to choose just the songs and videos that you want to have with you.

    Regards,

    Sterling
