Q: Xsan Metadata volume failed

Hello,

I am in a very bad possition and I need help.

We have set up Xsan system but the metadata volume was on RAID 0 instaed of RAID 1 - do not ask why.

Now the drive on the RAID 0 failed and the metadata volume is gone.

Please tell me if there is a way to save the information on the data volume which is RAID 6 and haven't been touched but i do not have access to it.

If I connect the RAID system to a computer directly will I see the data and be able to back it up?

Please please help

No. You need metadata to know where files' extents live on disk, what their names are, folder hierarchy, etc. Try to get the metadata back. A good data recovery outfit might be able to get data off the failed hard drive and onto a new drive to get the RAID-0 back online.
