I have many clips in the timeline (one above the other) can I flattern them to make just one clip.Im in fcp7
hope this makes sense.
look up "nesting" in the manual.
There was software called EDIT MULE that did this...brought all the clips down to one track. But they are out of business.
But if you want it to be ONE CLIP...either nest as Michael suggests, or export a self contained QT, and bring that back in...it'll be one file.
And there's AUTO COLLAPSE...
well if we're pointing to 3rd party solutions
digital rebellion's promedia tools has a "clean up timeline" function and lot's of other useful tools
Another way would be to export a self-contained movie, then import the resulting file into your project ... as one clip.
What settings do I use to export it.....The first time I tried all was sucess...Then I messed around with settings and the width dimesion got sqeezed when viewed. Im working in pal and I used the easy set up..
Don't use QuickTime Conversion.
File > Export > QuickTime Movie > Current Settings / Self Contained.
This will give you a 1:1 copy of what is on your Timeline. QuickTime Conversion will recompress even if you choose the same codec as your source material.
