I did an update, but when my iMac asked for my passwork, for installing the update, the password did not work. Unfortunately I switched off my computer and upon switching back on, my password is not accepted anymore.
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
