Folks, I am getting confusing information from various sources.

According to the service I am using for factory unlocking my Iphone 5, as soon as I unlock my phone I will be able to use it on all GSM networks, except the original ATT.

This is contrary to all the previous unlocks I have ever done on any phone.

What is the reason why my phone will no longer work on ATT, if true?

Can APPLE or ATT help me get it back on ATT network once I no longer need to use it overseas?

Thank you for your help.

That's not true. If it is legitimately unlocked by AT&T, it will still work on AT&T.

Hi, the issue is that this is not an ATT unlock.

It's one of those legitimate factory imei unlock services.

They claim that I won't be able to use it on att network which makes absolutely no sense.

Sorry. You can't get help here for your hacked/illegally unlocked phone.

ONLY the carrier the phone is locked to has the legal right to unlock it. That would be AT&T. If it was unlocked by someone else, then you're out of luck.

It's one of those legitimate factory imei unlock services.

There is no such thing. As Tim said, ONLY the carrier can unlock it, any other illegal service is NOT legitimate.
