Thank you apfelowner
I confirm, running 10.8. 2 on my new MB Pro I did the same as you, selecting HP Laserjet CP1022 (not HP Laserjet 1022 1.4) and it worked! :-)

Well, Tim, almost three years later: I still have the same problems.
I can print one (1) page only, then I have to switch the printer off and on to print the next page.
This 1022 will be the very last Epson printer I've ever bought in this life!

Try CP1022 option (check my message above from "Nov 18, 2012 10:16 AM").
Sometimes (I didn't yet figure it out when exactly) there might be something like a document stuck in the queue with the name of "Supplies ..", just delete it from the queue and it resumes.
No need to cold restart the printer for me since November
Hope this helps
PS 1022 is HP's!

I saw the post after writing mine, re-installed & it worked so far - thanks!
And HP, yes, well...
Some form of anger management is necessary, I suppose

For me the New printer divers did nothing to help my problems with my HP1022nw.
Eventually went to
and downloaded "gutenprint-5.2.9"
which did reslove my main problem - only printing odd numbered pages.

For those of you who are fed up with the HP issue then just drop them!!! After HP was kind enough to send us out 2 replacement printers after we have had the same issues with 3 different units......I decided I've had it! This is not a car or a house.......consumer electronics are not worth this much hastle. Take my advice and just buy a different brand of printer. I bought an Epson and I'm so glad I did.

I am still having major issues with my 1022n deciding to only print odd pages and it's driving me nuts. HP say the driver is up to date. The gutenprint driver (above) does not print the whole page. I have downloaded the latest apple drivers, removed the old driver, restarted, installed, etc, all to no avail - can someone please help me out?
Printer: HP 1022n
Connection: Ethernet (fixed IP)
Driver Version: 1.4.0

Yes, after migrating to 10.9 all issues are back again: lights blinking and no further printing after the first page and all sorts of other bugs.
Definitely my last HP
