HT1386 iPad doesn't show up in iTunes, but I am having no problem syncing my iPhone.

When I attach my iPad to the computer, it doesn't even show up in iTunes, but I am having no issues with my iPhone.  I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, changing the cable, using a different USB port, and nothing seems to work. I don't think it's any type of software conflict since the phone isn't a problem. Both iTunes and my iOS is up to date.
