Take it to your carrier or call apple.
If it's physcially hot it means something is active and processing in the iOS. Usually the culprit is the GPS.
Close out all apps and uninstall any phone/data tracking apps you may have installed.

I have installed some softwares on IOS version 5. But when i have upgraded, i didn't install any software. I tried some suggestions as reset network setting, turn off siri, disable cloud account, turn off Location Service... But it didn't work. I got this problem more 6 months. I don't know why Apple have not fixed it yet.
During 6 months, sometimes it is normal, it happened when i have charged from 0% battery.
Any more suggestion??!!!
