@timelover: you are right, the Trackpad++ dirver is made only for the official, or, better to say, 'normal' Windows 7 and Windows 8.

Oh man thats too bad for me haha.

Do you think there's something I could fix or do to make it work over Tiny 7?

Sorry, but no ideas. Except of... maybe you could install normal, ordinary Windows 7 or 8, then Boot Camp drivers, then Trackpad++ and everything will work. The only thing, if your Windows is 64-bit, then you need to install Power Plan Assistant before the Trackpad++.

By the way (or not by the way but) I recently made a small user opinion poll regarding what Trackpad++ feature(s) people love most. And it appears like the recently added 3-finger dragging has quickly become #1. The second place is taken by 3-4-finger back/forward navigation (which was always #1 in the past).

But what surprised me most: people are mostly unaware of the benefits of the middle mouse button emulation via 3- or 4-finger tap. It's actually super convenient thing, as it allows you to quickly open web browser tab in background by just tapping over the link. Or, if used anywhere on the webpage it activates smooth/auto-scrolling feature.

    Alright then, thanks.

Now speaking about features, two little things that would make a GREAT improvement would be these:

1- Manually change the 3 finger drag delay: In the instructions it says OSX dragging has that delay too, but I feel that trackpad++'s delay kind takes longer than it should.

2- Implement middle mouse click and HOLD: That would be awsome for technical softwares (like 3ds max) that require a 3 button mouse due to the need to not only click but hold the middle button.

    Thanks!

@timelover: Thank you for suggesting. By the way right now you can remove the 3-finger dragging release delay completely, simply by checking the option "Immediately Release..." at the bottom of the Trackpad++ Control Module. And for this no-delay mode of the dragging operation the "2x Dragging Speed" option of the Trackpad++ Control Module is also recommended. But in general I recommend to stay with the default setup. It allows to drag any distance wthout nerves. And also the precision is higher without the speed doubler.

@V-l-a-d-i-m-i-r: Wow that was useful for me either! I meant the no-delay hint. Thanks as always Vladimir!

Slide down from top/bottom for app bar? Just to make it complete

Also, where's the build for this week?

@pratnala: the fresh build of the Trackpad++ driver for our much beloved Boot Camped Macbooks is already available. It's no different from the previous week, though. Regarding this gesture, sure, that would make it logically complete. But still I cannot get rid of impression that the static tap with two fingers is the easier gesture... Isn't it?

Regarding the build: Till Saturday, the build date was 16th May and only on Sunday, it showed 23rd May. That's why I asked (on Saturday).

Regarding the gesture: Of course the 2 finger tap is easier. I'm just asking for the sake of completeness.

So I have installed Trackpad ++ and Power Plan and everything is working fine, but I am seeing Test Mode on my desktop.  I tried searching through the thread to see if there was a fix but couldn't find anyhting specific.  I am on Windows 8 64-Bit. beside that, really loving this, but the Test Mode label is really bothering me for whatever reason...

  • 655. Re: A NEW TRACKPAD DRIVER IS OUT

@rkuchin: Normally, the Power Plan Assistant shall handle the 'Test Mode' thing, but it seems like in rare cases you might need to apply the fix manually.

Therefore, I have cooked a small standalone fix for the community (for Windows 8 x64 specifically).

    http://powerplan7.com/Windows_8_x64_Test_Mode_Remover.zip

USAGE: unzip, run *as administrator*, wait until says done, reboot. By the way it's safe to apply the fix multiple times. For example, if the message persists after reboot, apply the fix again.

The only thing which could affect the success of the fix is your locale settings, the fix is 100% verified to work for English Windows 8, so, if no success, please try to temporary change both the region and display language to English.

Worked like a charm, had to apply it twice, but then it was all gone.  Thanks for the quick response @V-l-a-d-i-m-i-r!

No problems, good to know everything works. Keep enjoying your Mac even in Boot Camp! Not without the Trackpad++, of course

@ALL: Some people were asking, so... just FYI: one interesting option is kind of 'hidden', so most of the users do not even know about it. Right-click the Trackpad++ Control Module tray icon ('++' icon) and you will see an option to temporary disable trackpad input completely. I added this option just for the testing purposes but it appears some people might need it when playing games with mouse.

Congrats, Vladimir. Great work. Especially 3 finger drag. I wonder how had you make it possible at all, as Apple never opened their trackpad specs. You're the Master . I've one question: do you plan to support Magic Trackpad? You know, my rMBP is now happy, but iMac isn't yet.
