Delete button does not work in photos

Delete button does not work in import photos album although it does show on the screen.

iPad, iOS 5

    Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.

     

    Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing

    What about photos ON THE IPAD,taken with the Ipad but cannot be erased as red button does not light up on edit mode.After being synced on the IMAC from the Ipad, they can be deletet on the Imac using the delete ON THE KEYBOARD of the Imac....

    If they were taken with the iPad then tapping the Edit button should then allow you to select the photos that you want to delete, and the Delete button should then become active - you've tapped the photos that you want to delete ?
