May 22, 2013 2:57 AM in response to milliefromseattleby slodev@sk,★Helpfulyes, you can add song to an ebook. but it depends on software you are going to use to create ePub (or ibook if you want to use iBooks Author). if you are OK with ediging xhtml files (book pages) manually before ePub is created, you can simply add at the start of the "body" following code:
<audio src="your_song_file.m4a" epub:type="ibooks:soundtrack" />

May 22, 2013 3:08 AM in response to slodev@skby Touch Hean,I got the same problem to play the audio in ePub3.
I have used your code <audio src="your_song_file.m4a" epub:type="ibooks:soundtrack" />. But it didn't pass epubchecker when i use the attribute epub:type

May 22, 2013 4:56 AM in response to slodev@skby Touch Hean,Thanks alot slodev@sk
It helps me alot with your epub:prefix.
I have followed the iBookstore Asset Guide 4.8, it doesn't provide this attribute. I don't know why it doesn't give a detail information regarding this usage.

May 23, 2013 1:00 AM in response to Touch Heanby Touch Hean,I have another bug similar to this one, it seems missing some attribute or use incorrect namespace.
I use a read aloud control to start or stop the Read Aloud sound. But there is a problem with the attribute ibooks:readaloud, the code doesn't pass the epubchecker.
The error message is the below:
attribute "ibooks:readaloud" not allowed here; expected attribute "accesskey",....
Kindly let me know if you have any more ideas.
Thanks in advance again

May 23, 2013 1:41 AM in response to Touch Heanby slodev@sk,ah, this one. this is not a bug.
in old epubchecks this didn't show as error, but they corrected the code and now show it as error.
but don't worry about this "error", it is not an error and book will pass through apple check.

Jul 2, 2014 9:15 AM in response to slodev@skby EDL Group,Hello, is there a way to set the soundtrack to automatically be on when the book is open? Mine currently needs to be turned on manually in the audio controls. also is there a way to embed on/off for soundtrack on a page?
thanks!
