Q: 13" MacBook Pro Retina Display Image Retention / Burn In

Now the 15" version is $400+ more. I own a 15 and 13 retina, they perfom identically and I DO use graphics intensive programs. The one odd issue is both scroll with jitter on theverge.com - thats it.

Hi Golfleep- Same situation with me as well - I purchased a 13" rMBP and then discovered IR threads after the fact.

Is there anyone here who would know if you could identify the manufacturer if you removed the back of the laptop?... Would it be possible to see a name/product number on a wire/connection from the display going into the main compartment that is accessible?

I found a short terminal command that was used by someone on a 13" rMBP:

$ ioreg -lw0 | grep -i "DisplayVendorID"

their result was 1552, and another user confirmed that this vendor is Samsung

Answered in the other large thread about IR, but basically I also got the 1552 result as well, so I'm not sure I'm convinced that the 1552 necessarily means Samsung as a manufacturer, since my 13" rMBP has demonstrable IR issues. My rMBP is a late 2012 model BTW.

Anyone out there have a early 2013 13" rMBP with IR issues?  I doubt Apple would have addressed the issue with the price drop and refresh, but I guess it doesn't hurt to ask!

I also have 13" rMBP and got vendor ID 1552 as well. I did 10min IR test and I did not see any IR issue.
