Q: How do I find out WHEN an iCal event was created?

Is there some kind of timestamp in the computer that will tell when an iCal event was created?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), 24" 3.06GHz iMac with no video.

    Rick,

    It may be possible.

Try this. Go to the "Calendars" folder in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library Folder. In that folder you should find folders with alpha-numeric names. These folders will match the calendars which you have displayed in iCal. When you open those folders you will find an "Events" folder and an info.plist file.

You should be able to identify the specific calendar by analyzing the plist file, or quick-looking events contained in the Events folder.

When you find the correct calendar, organize the events by "Date Created," and manually identify the target event.

    Hi,

Another way would be to use Spotlight.

Search for the event title. Then select "Show all in Finder". If there are a lot of results add another filter; "Kind" is "Other" > "iCal file".  Then look at the creation and modification date of the file.

    Best wishes
