Q: Install Disk Copy on Macintosh Classic
Hi: I have an old Macintosh 512k, as well as a Classic running 7.0.1. I am trying to make a system floppy (3.2) on the Classic that will boot my 512k. I followed the step by step process describes by Gabriel Torres here: http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/printpage/How-to-Generate-Floppy-Disks-for-Old-Ma cintosh-Computers/1713 but I get stuck trying to install Disc Copy 6.3.3 on the classic. I successfully downloaded and expanded Disk Copy, copied it on a floppy, using a desktop running WinXP with Transmac, and copied it in the Hard Drive of the Classic. However, when I double click on it, my Classic does not recognize the self-mounting property of the Disk Copy program, and rather thinks it is just a document. I checked with Transmac that the expanded Disk Copy file does not have anything in the "Type" and "Creator" fields. Thinking this could be where the problem is, I tried various "Types" such as AAPL, dImg, as well as "Creator". But no success. Anybody willing to help me ? Thanks in advance.

The file type should be APPL and the creator should be ddsk. If that doesn't work, put the downloaded file and not the extracted one on the floppy.
