You can restore it and see what happens but it's probably a hardware failure. Take it to Apple. You have a 1 year warranty.

You were correct. I attempted a restore via iTunes, but my iPhone went into recovery mode and I couldn't get it to restore properly. I got a (-1 error) I went to the Apple Store this morning and they did a restore on their computer, but the phone immediately went into "searching mode" again. So they gave me a new iPhone...resolved happily.
