Q: Two iCloud accounts in Notes

I have two iCloud accounts that show in Notes. The one that has content is syncing perfectly with my iPhone and iPad, the other is empty. Does anyone know how to delete the second account? As you can see below, the "Delete folder" option is grayed out.

I've tried the suggestions at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4153328 but they don't work for me. I'd sure appreciate some insight on this from someone who might have experienced the same thing.

Thanks!

    Back up all data.

    Check the Mail, Contacts & Calendar preference pane to make sure you're not synchronizing Notes in more than one account.

    If you're not, disable Notes synchronization temporarily.

    Quit Notes, if it's running.

    Triple-click the line below to select it:

    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes

    Copy the whole line of text to the Clipboard (command-C).

    In the Finder, select

    Go Go to Folder

    from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return. A Finder window should open with a folder selected. If it does, move the selected foldernot just its contents — to the Desktop.

    The folder you're moving is named "com.apple.Notes" It is not the subfolder named "Data" or anything else.

    Re-enable Notes synchronization.

    Relaunch Notes and test. If it works now, delete the folder you moved. Otherwise, quit again, and put the folder back where it was, overwriting the one that may have been created in its place.

    Caution: If you delete some or all of the contents of the selected folder, but leave the folder itself in place, the application may not launch. Deleting the folder will cause it to be rebuilt automatically.

    Thanks for the solution. Just before I saw your response to my post, I tripped across a blog on Google when I was searching for a solution and it worked like a champ. I can tell from reading yours that it, too, would have worked. Here's what I did to fix the error.

    1. Disable Notes in your  iCloud account;
    2. Quit Notes app;
    3. In Terminal type: rm -rf ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.Notes/
    4. Start Notes app;
    5. Enable Notes in your iCLoud account.

    I almost reversed steps 4 and 5 but decided to stick with the instructions, as written.

    The weird part is that I had already manually deleted this folder, but it didn't solve the problem. Entering the command in Terminal did. My advice to anyone tripping across this post, especially those unfamiliar with Terminal, would be to do a backup prior to running this command as it can't be reversed.

    Linc, thanks very much for your post and your help in resolving this problem!

    The shell command you ran is extremely dangerous, and the advice you took to run it was incompetent. One slight mistake and you have would have deleted your whole home folder. There is no "undo."

    It worked for me.  And I still have my home folder.  How about that?
