When I save a document, I'm seeing an odd file name -- numerals and letters -- but not the name I used.  Also, I'm receiving an error -- invalid file format on several saved Pages docs. Has anyone run into this issue?

Are you still using MacOs Lion? Pages version? Using iCloud? Have you done any maintenance on your computer like Repair permissions, deleted cash etc. (Onyx is good for that)?  Restarted the computer lately?

What language are you using? That commonly happens when you have a different encoding.

Thanks for the replies.  I ended up copying the document to a new doc and deleted the troublesome one.  That's the first time I've run into that problem and it was only with a single doc.  For now, I'll forge ahead and not worry about it.  The rest of my files are fine.

    Hi TPSCH1,

I ended up copying the document to a new doc and deleted the troublesome one.

To help others who read your reply, please tell how you did this. Did you do Menu > File >Duplicate? Did you Copy then Paste the content of the document to a new blank document?

    Regards,

    Ian.

No, I did not duplicate the doc; I pasted content only into a new doc.  I simply went to Edit > Copy then File > New and then did an Edit > Paste.
