May 28, 2013 8:38 AM in response to gunnard-iMACby firstlaunch,My suggestion is to not force quit during a backup unless you know for sure it's frozen. Vaulting can sometimes take a really long time and at times appears stalled. You can read other posts with related issues for vaulting.

May 28, 2013 8:58 AM in response to firstlaunchby gunnard-iMAC,It's an external disc, so I can monitor disc activity by the led. It indicates no activity. I've waiting for more than 36 hours.
What might be an issue here is that this backup (I have several ones) that is so slow now might be originated in my previous Aperture library, before I had to rebuild. On one other backup disc I removed all old backups, and then succeded making a full backup. I believe it took about 24 hours.

May 30, 2013 6:48 AM in response to gunnard-iMACby Kirby Krieger,- Back up your Library and all Referenced Originals using Finder or thrid-party software (SuperDuper, Carbon Copy Cloner). Verify your back-ups.
- Delete all your Vaults.
- Reboot.
- Repair your Library.
- Try to create and populate new Vaults, or (my recommendation) don't use Aperture's Vault feature: use SuperDuper or CCC to create and update your Aperture data back-ups.
- Delete the back-ups you made at the start of this process.

May 30, 2013 6:51 AM in response to Kirby Kriegerby gunnard-iMAC,Thank you
I've repaired my Library. And deleted all vaults. When trying to add vault again, it stopped at about 55%, but when I closed Aperture (not forced closing, but Aperture-Quit in menu), reopened again, then backup to vault did continue and finished.
Still a little uncertain if things are ok.
