It is just a licence so either use the original installer file you used before, or DL it again here:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL837

It will ask you to register and you give it your registration number. Pretty much like any other piece of software.

Sort out your software purchases and keep the installers, along with your purchased licence information, on a portable USB Hard Drive. CD/DVDs are a rather clumsy method of handling all your software these days.

Nick what are you talking about? It is just a file.

Just DL it. Nothing stopping you clicking on the link. Once you have it installed just go to the registration, I don't know where that is in the PC version but it is probably just under or in the Preferences section of the menus.

Where specifically are you stopped from taking the next step?

Thats QuickTime 7 not the PRO version - bottom of the page!

After installation, visit the Apple Online Store to purchase a QuickTime 7 Pro

I have QuickTime7 and there does not appear to be a way to register it or put in my product key to upgrade it to the PRO version.

Whe I go to the purchase page it asks me for my card details again.

But the Pro version is nothing but QT7 with registration and always has been.

I don't have the Windows version but in the Mac it looks like this:

    Screen Shot 2013-05-29 at 1.36.12 AM.png

When you click on that you get:

    Screen Shot 2013-05-29 at 1.36.39 AM.png

Unregistered you can't edit the file's properties but you can do things like resave to standard .mov formats.

Peter I have found it - Open Quick Time7 - Edit - Preferences - Register

Would not have found it without the screen shot you provided so thanks for that.

Windows programs nearly always have their Preferences under Edit.

OSX's consistently under the Application menu is much more sensible.

Glad you fixed it. You'll find Apple software registration is much less onerous and insulting than Windows. The iWork suite for example is virtually an honesty system.

I had a similar problem,Nick, but I saw the option, where to put the registration numbers , but the only option to move on that I saw was to "Buy".  After many tries, for some reason, I hit the return key, and all was well.  My registration was in and everything was good.

Here is something that you might like to know.  I've had the benefit for years, and thought it was because of QT 7 Pro, being able to open .flv files.

Download Perian.  Once you install and restart, Perian will become a plug-in for Quicktime Pro and you will be able to open .flv files and change them to .mov.  At least, that's how it has been working on Tiger and now on Mt. Lion.  I never knew/realized that I was opening youtube videos because of the Free Perian download.

QT 7.6.6  is the only Pro option, however, you can have more than one QT application on your hard drive.

Enjoy, purchasing QT was one of the best aps I've ever purchased.
