I upgraded to a new MB Pro running Mountain Lion and Garageband v6.0.5.  My old iMac was a Power PC that was running Leopard and the last version of Garageband (with the extra Jam Packs)  that would run on that computer.  I migrated my files to the new computer but now I notice that many of my old loops and virtual instruments are missing.  Where are they located in Garageband 6?  Do I have to load the Jam Packs again?  Where should my loops and virtual instuments be located to be accessable with this version of Garageband?

Thanks in advance.

How did you migrate from your old mac? With Migration Assistant?

Then probably your Instrument library has not be migrated.

The Instruments Library needs to go into:

    /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/Instrument Library/

    and the loops into

    /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/

    See Christop Drösser's post here:

Re: Why are my Jam Pack voices not showing in GB?

When all has been transferred, reindex the loops: See Rebuilding the Loop Index in GarageBand

Hopefully that will bring all your loops and instruments back. Some of the old JamPack installer disks will not run properly on Mt. Lion, since they contain PowerPC code that is not supported on Mt. Lion.
