Q: Constant beeping sound

My computer keeps making a constant beeping noise like a key is stuck! If I go to settings then sound and turn it down it runs the volume back up right away by itself! We have an extra keyboard that has been tried and that does not help it doesn't stop when I turn the kayboard off either!

Please someone help this is driving us crazy!

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

Try running Apple Hardware Test on your system.

1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable

Okay I ran the Apple Hardware Test like you said but it found no issues! So I restarted and the beeping is gone???? So I don't know what happened but at least it's gone! Thank You!
