Q: What to do when Apple AV Cable is connected to my iPod and TV, but I still get a "TV Out Enabled: Please Connect Video Accessory" message?

Does anyone know how to rectify this situation?  Is it my iPod (80 GB Classic) or TV?  Or do you think it's the Apple AV Cables?  Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Hello there Kline14,

I would recommend a couple of things. First if you havent already, turn off the iPod with everything disconnected, and turn it back on, then re connect everything. If that doesnt work then I recommend resetting the iPod.

This article outlines how to do both of those things, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430.

    Restarting your device

    1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
    2. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.

    Resetting your device

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

If the issue still persists check out the troubleshooting section of this article: iOS: About Apple Digital AV Adapters found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4108.

If the issue persists after that, then I would recommend restoring the iPod using iTunes, iTunes: Restoring iOS software http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414. Be sure to backup the iPod first.

    All the very best,
