Q: Can I use my website to distribute my ibook?

I want to get started with a 'how to do' craft book.

Can I publish to my website for others to download?

Happy for the first to be free downloads but then I would hope to get payment by Pay pal.

I have ISBN numbers are these relevent?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5), i want to get started.

Are you using iBooks Author to create your book?  If so, getting payment requires you to publish in the iBookstore, not on your website (unless you are exporting to the .pdf format).

    To clarify Toms reply....

If you use Apples iBooks Author   the terms and conditions you will need to accpt  include that the software id free and  used to  produce publication  for uploading to Apples iBooks Store.

There are two accounts, 1 for free books and  1 for paid books.

You can distribute any book you create on Apples iBA software ..on condition that the books are supplied free of any payments.

IF you  use  it to sell books on your website and Apple find out.. you will  get a life ban and any and all Apple account you have will be closed.

I have a website and sell books from it. BUT I use an iPad only app called Book Creator it costs about $3 and has no restrictions BUT it is not as sophisticated as iBA.

Its worth buying  just to play with when "watching" TV!
