T-Mobile has made lots of noise lately about wanting to provide assistance to iPhone users on their network. You may want to call them back and escalate it up the food chain.

I find it disconcerting that one can be debited for services not available, required, nor used. My plan doesn not include international services. I suppose I made the wrong choice when I bought my iPhone 5, as I could have chosen other phones without this disadvantage, had I known...
