when trying to send an imessage it would not go thru to an iphone user.  So I sent it as a text.  Now all my messages go thru as texts not imessage.  How do I switch it back to imessage instead of as text?

iPhone 5, iOS 6.0.1

Ok just to confirm the recipient is an iPhone/iPad user?  If so they have to have iMessage turned on, this can be done via Settings->Messages.

You'll also need to check that recipient is logged in with their Apple ID and that the phone number or email address you are using is associated with iMessage, this can also be checked on recipients phone under Settings->Messages->Send & Recieve

Goes without saying but make sure you have iMessage turned on as well.

    Regards,

Ok, and what about the recipient?

If you don't have 3G/4G or Wifi turned on it may be a little slow over a standard network before activation is complete.

No problem, it may just be a simple matter that he has iMessage turned off in his settings.  Let us know how you get on.
