Q: server using complete hostname (user@mail.ourdomain.com) instead of just user@domain.com?

Had to restart my server today.

It's now adding @mail.ourdomain.com to our in house addresses?

it should be @ourdomain.com any one else seen this behavior? nothing has changed on our server.  it's host name is mail.ourdomain.com but i've never seen this before.

Mac mini, Mac OS X (10.7.3), Lion Server

you are seeing this in mail you are sending our receiving?

mail sent from webmail or a web client?

if you send mail to 'bob' it would be normal for the server to add the hostname bob@host.domain.com unless you have it configured otherwise.

need to know more specifics to be of any assist

mail is delivering fine, I just haven't seen it do this. The only time it seems to cause an issue (or there is an unrelated issue) that after a reboot emails to an alias with internal recipients will have bounce backs for people you know exist.

I'm just having all sorts of issues with this mail server and they're odd. Like using webmail is PAINFULLY slow.  It didn't used to be. We have a lot of duplicate emails (different ESMTP ID but same messageID) and they're not always to an alias... I can't figure out if it's the client (emClient) or the server...

A little overwhelmed. I appreciate your responses though.
