Launch Mail. Once launched, click on the word "Mail" beside the apple, then go into "preferences / accounts".
This error is telling you that for one of your accounts listed in this window, it can't connect to the server.
Do you see any accounts you no longer use? If so, delete them.
Also, click on your "apple / system preferences / mobile me". If you still appear to be signed into Mobile me, sign out.
I have no old accounts in there, they are each current. I've also never used Mobile Me though I've heard of it.
I suppose I could delete each account then re activate them but I'd rather not lose all the messages associated with each account. For my last problem there was a solution involving the terminal and going in to type commands in order to fix permissions. I'm hoping for something along those lines! Cheers!
I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion from Lion, and after turning on our old G5 running 10.5.8, the Mountain Lion iMac keeps saying it can't connect to the server (G5) when the G5 is off. I can't get it to stop. I can't tell if it's related to Mail or any other specific app for sure.
I've tried turning the G5 on, connecting to it, and then disconnecting in hopes that the system would realize that the relationship was amicably terminated, but it keeps trying to log on anyway.
What could be going on?
