Got the latest itunes but it keeps asking me the password when I try to make a purchase. Not once but over and over. I enter the password but itunes ignores it and asks for the password again and again and I can not complete the purchase. The password is correct as I have verified it from my keychain. Capslock is not set. I can go to my account and check the account info is correct but still can't make a purchase.


itunes 11.03, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)

    I am having the same trouble since the update.

     

    If you sign out of iTunes store and sign in again, it will/should work. It works for me.

     

    Not a solution but a quick fix.

    This works but it is not ideal obviously.

    I've had the same issue.  If Apple is listening, for me in iTunes, when this happens, the pop-up is different.  It has just an input for the apple id and password -- can't recall what the button says, maybe "Get".

     

    When it does work, the pop-up also has the checkbox for "remember my id", etc..  In any case, they are different ways of verifying your identity.

     

    Now, when I see the the first pop-up, I realize it's probably not going to work, quit iTunes, and restart.

    Mine is "Check for Downloads" even thou I'm just trying to resume paused downloadss

     

    Restarting iTunes fixes things for a (short) while.
