Q: What's wrong with Safari?

After a recent upgrade of RAM to 2-2GB's on my iMac (20" Intel early 2008), Safari sometimes loads in a strange way: without graphics, with a column of links to the left. What's going on?

Thanks.

iMac (20-inch Early 2008), Mac OS X (10.7.5), Safari 6.0.4

From the Safari menu bar, select

    Safari Preferences Extensions

Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.

If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. That will revert its settings to the defaults.
