I like the command line that iHatePC has put together.  Question though - after typing the command into Terminal and then pressing enter - does it just do its thing?  Do I need to type this in everytime I start Chrome?

No, you just have to type the command into the terminal one time.

Keep in mind that you STILL have to "satisfy" the LAST call or it will keep screaming every few minutes!

Thanks Rodko for posting and thanks to everyone for their help and solutions with this.

I accidently selected "Set Up Automatic Updates for All Users" with "About Google Chrome" and my life went into the toilet. I also had a nasty "Google Picasa" update pop up that would not leave me alone, no mater how many times I clicked no. Removing the Google Updater solved everything.

I have used App Zapper to delete everything to do with Google on my Mac - Chrome, Earth - you name it.

I am now going to sit back and hope. I can't believe that Google don't have a fix for this.

If you like Chrome, like I do, and hate ksfetch, like I think we all do, you can search for and download a

community build that won't report back to google.  For all those that don't know Chromium is the  open-source

'element' that google builds Chrome from. Since Chromium is open-source, some people/groups in the community have taken that code and altered it to better suit their desires/needs. I found FreeSMUG Chromium to integrate easily and so far have not had a popup.. !

I might be wrong... I haven't had it installed for too long but.. here's hoping

    Thank you!

Nik software now uses this google software update virus.  Disabling it is mandatory if you use mobile broadband.

I went to username/library/LaunchAgents/com.google.keystone.agent.plist and changed the "true" under "<key>RunAtLoad</key>" to "false" and the number under "<key>StartInterval</key>" to 0.

This seems to be a better / easier way.  In finder go to /Users/YourUserName/Library/Google

Then right click "get info" or CMD I and change the permissions on the "Google Folder" too read only and lock it.

You can also do this via terminal for advanced users.

This  works for Hands Off or Little Snitch in fact you can delete "all the  rules" for KsFetch and it hasn't come back for me in a long time.

This  may interfere with Google software updates so if your Google stuff  breaks just change the permissions back and update. Then change back if  necessary.

You can also use the wildcards in Hands Off and  Little Snitch they do work as well. If you the recent versions. Google  it to learn how to use the wildcards.

Go to the go menu when finder is on top, push the option key, then click the library button
