    Device not recognized

    1. Do you have the latest version of iTunes on your computer

    2. Try different USB port on your computer

    Windows :

First, try giving your iPad a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys, until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and try again.

Then you can see if your iTunes is up to date.

Then, try unplugging/replugging the USB into a different port.

I have tried the reset, iTunes is up to date, used different ports, restarted the PC. I think I will un-install and re-install iTunes.

Open ControlPanel>Device Manager>USB Controllers>Apple Mobile Device Drivers(If there)>properties>drivers>uninstall>ok. Disconnect iPad and Restart computer. Connect iPad in USB 3.0 and let it install. If iTunes already installed (If not then install iTunes) then should recognize iPad, if iTunes does not open then go to Control Panel>Programs and Features>Locate Apple Mobile Device Support>right click>Repair. Then locate ITunes>right click>Repair. Disconnect iPad and restart computer. Connect iPad and iTunes will open and recognize your iPad. Worked for me.

Don't connect both iPads with same USB cable.

Its a has a few troubleshooting tips. But look for #5. In my case, Win8 Device Manager wasnt listing the Apple Mobile Device USB driver, under UNIVERSAL SERIAL BUS CONTROLLERS.

For unknown reason, you will need to manually update the Apple iPad Driver. (In Device Manager) Go under PORTABLE DEVICES.

just right click on the Apple iPad, choose Update Driver Software and manually locate the driver (automatically won't work), by going to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers

Then ok. and let the system update the driver.

Check iTunes after, you should see the iPad.
