Q: Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. No Sound Output Routing Available

Hi. All of a sudden my Mac Pro doesn't display the Saffire option for sound output. The Saffire appears in the input stage (Settings> Sound) and I can see that external signals are getting in (via the Focusrite mixer).

The firewire is connected fine (illuminated).

I have downloaded the latest drivers.

I have checked for available system updates (all fine there).

I have also checked that I haven't muted the outputs (just in case).

The main problem seems to be that the audio output option to route through Saffire has just gone. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm from Spain, I communicate through copy and paste into the google translator, excuse my English, but I need help please

    I have a MAC OS X 10.8.3 and I bought a audio interface Focusrite Saffire Pro 40.
I have problem: On my computer there is no audio outputs of the saffire pro 40, I've verified that everything is correct in the application Saffire Mix Control, but not output sound, my computer recognizes inputs correctly even have made a recording in a DAW using Saffirey entries running, but there are no audio outputs on my computer Mac OS X 10.8.3.

only if I make changes to the sampling frequency display the outputs achievement reflected in the device settings on my computer, but the sound continues without departing from the outputs of the saffire pro 40

On the other hand, there is direct access to the saffire pro 40 in the out 1 and 2 when I connect an external device to the SPDIF input, but the saffire 40 pro will not play the sounds of the computer, eg iTune, because the computer does not recognizes the audio outputs of the saffire, why is this?
Please can someone help me with this

Solution!, We have solved exactly Livingston_Drew, the focusrite technical service sent medice file and PDF of instructions, and file support we have solved, thanks to Elliot focusrite support.
    My problem was:
I remember that was beginning to install the saffire pro 40 worked well, but as is factory configured with the sampling frequency to 48 I changed it to 44100 which is my favorite, and that the problems started

, it disappeared out of my computer, could record entries even from saffire pro 40, but could not play through their outputs, only through the integrated output of my macbook pro, I made changes firewire cable and nothing, I thought I had broken something physical or hardware, but fortunately it was not.
    Thank you all, greetings.

    I am sorry my english.

    muchas gracias a todos

Hi Guys, I am having the same issue with my Saffire Pro 40, no output on 44.1 & 48 kHz. I have contacted Focusrite Support [(Case 219227) Saffire PRO 40] and have had a couple of emails asking for details which I supplied. but since then nothing. Can somebody please send me though the dicetool and instructions so I can once again use my Saffire Pro 40.

    Appreciate any help.

    Hey Phil,

Unless you find someone with your exact model and specs of Mac, the dice tool won't work for you. I had immediate response from Focusrite by using their live chat feature,

Hi Michael, Yes I had a reply yesterday and tried the fix immediately. Followed the instructions and now the Saffire Pro 40 is working correctly @ 44.1kHz and 48kHz. The outputs were not showning at all at the mentioned frequencies, but all is good now. Thanks for your help, very much appreciated.

    Hi MARFfam,

Apologies, I haven't looked into this forum/ discussion for a while so missed your request. However, I'm not employed by Focusrite so I'm not qualified to assess your particular problem so would be reluctant to send you the diceTool anyway. It would be horrible if the fault you experienced was something different and you screwed up your system running the tool (and invalidated any warranty as a result).

The best bet (and this is also for anyone else reading this) is to contact the tech support guys at FocusRite. They will help you out. Just need to be patient.

Anyway, I hope that your problem was resolved.

    Cheers,

    D
