Despite the latest update to 10.8.4 claiming a fix for Messages, I am still experiencing sync issues with the app on my mac. First of all, my iPhone receives Messages without any problems and shows a correct history, but Messages on the Mac does not receive messages in a reliable way. Instead, sometimes messages show up on the phone but not on the mac. Other times, the mac receives messages which are delayed and are completely out of context. The history still gets confused, too. I open up Messages and it shows my last conversations, but they are all in a wrong order. Reopening Messages usually just shows a different wrong order of old conversations, but never the correct one like on the iPhone.

Is there anything I can do? Like maybe reinstall Messages on the mac manually?

All in all, I'm quite disappointed that Apple doesn't seem able to fix this, especially considering how long Mountain Lion is available now.

Thanks in advance!

    HI,

I am afraid we are all in the same boat at the present moment with this.

There apparently is  no fix that works effectively or permanently.

The closest is the Relaunch the App which you have already tried.
