I'm hoping someone can help.

I have a brand new iPad (retina display) and my the emails in my 'saved' box disappear. I cannot find anyplace where I might have 'told' the iPad to do this.

I am a senior and this is my first foray into the iOS world which I find very confusing so any help has to be very specific. Thanks.

Hopefully someone else will chime in to explain this better, but here goes....  I use gmail.  Mail files are not downloaded to the ipad, it mearly provides a view into gmail.  I belive this is called IMAP.  Could you be exceeding some limit from your email provider (size, time kept, etc)?

Thanks for the you helped vote. but may not have been clear.  I have been quite happy with gmail, but that is not what I was trying to communicate.  At least the way I understand things, the ipad does not download emails to the device.  It just provides a view.

Hence, what might be occuring is that you view your email and move it to another folder.  Then for whatever reason your email provider (or you) deletes it on their servers. It will then no longer be seen on the ipad.

I was also used to the old outlook where everything was stored locally, and this took me a while to get used to.

I have the same problem but have found a way round it. I log in to Hotmail via Safari and all my emails are present in my folders.
