hey guys, just got my ibook a few weeks ago & have a question regarding the charge adapter. The meter on the ibook states that the battery is 100% charged, but the indicator light on the charger is still orange.

Is there something i'm missing?

Thanks guys.
Carmine.

    Sometimes my iBookG4 1.33 12" mid-2005 model's charge indicator is not
exactly correct; and one time I let the machine run without recharging until
it was near 0% and when it went to sleep by itself to save settings, I then
put it on the power adapter; and that was said to "calibrate" the battery.

Sometimes, if the cord-end with the indicator light isn't fully and carefully
pushed into the iBook, it may show orange even if it indicates a full charge.
I gently push and slightly twist the plug as I insert it into the iBook to be
sure it is getting a connection and later on it seems to not have any problem.

In rarer cases, there may be some other issue; and by trying the hardware
causes and then if that isn't working out, there may be a reset you could
perform; I have not needed to reset the PMU in my iBook.

Once, when my iBook had the same symptoms you state, I simply re-
started the iBook and let it run from the power adapter; it showed green
and 100% after it booted up and the desktop formed normally. None of
what I've said may be a cure; but if the battery is calibrated and then it
shows OK, then it probably is. Although there may be other possible
things wrong; I prefer to look at and find all the things right first. And
due to where I live, I have a spare power adapter; just in case.

Hi, Carmine.<IMG src="http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c55/rondaleroi/welcome.gif" to Apple Discussions.

Any time there is a problem with the adapter or the battery, the first troubleshooting step to try is resetting the PMU.

Calibrating the battery will help keep the battery level indicator accurate.

I am too having this problem. I just got this new battery under the exchange program. Apple put it in when they were fixing my trackpad... I callibrated it... and it wont go green. I am figuring that it is not all the way 100%, even though it says so? Its perplexing.
