exactly correct; and one time I let the machine run without recharging until
it was near 0% and when it went to sleep by itself to save settings, I then
put it on the power adapter; and that was said to "calibrate" the battery.
Sometimes, if the cord-end with the indicator light isn't fully and carefully
pushed into the iBook, it may show orange even if it indicates a full charge.
I gently push and slightly twist the plug as I insert it into the iBook to be
sure it is getting a connection and later on it seems to not have any problem.
In rarer cases, there may be some other issue; and by trying the hardware
causes and then if that isn't working out, there may be a reset you could
perform; I have not needed to reset the PMU in my iBook.
Once, when my iBook had the same symptoms you state, I simply re-
started the iBook and let it run from the power adapter; it showed green
and 100% after it booted up and the desktop formed normally. None of
what I've said may be a cure; but if the battery is calibrated and then it
shows OK, then it probably is. Although there may be other possible
things wrong; I prefer to look at and find all the things right first. And
due to where I live, I have a spare power adapter; just in case.iBookG4 1.33 12" 1.5GB RAM / iMacG4 1.25 17" 1GB RAM, Mac OS X (10.4.6), & 10.3.9; w/ 2-AirPort Extremes 56k on DSL + ext antenna

Any time there is a problem with the adapter or the battery, the first troubleshooting step to try is resetting the PMU.
Calibrating the battery will help keep the battery level indicator accurate.eMac800/Superdrive/512; iBk800G3Combo/640-OS 10.3, Mac OS 9.2.x

Currently Being ModeratedMay 13, 2006 10:17 PM (in response to carmine pesce)I am too having this problem. I just got this new battery under the exchange program. Apple put it in when they were fixing my trackpad... I callibrated it... and it wont go green. I am figuring that it is not all the way 100%, even though it says so? Its perplexing.ibook g4 1.24, Mac OS X (10.4.3)
