After updating to OS10.8.4 I can no longer view an individual photos within "info and edit".

I know the image is there because Face ID is showing as "is this So and So?"

So, for some strange reason, the image itself is invisible.

    As a Test:

Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'

Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

If that doesn't work, try rebuilding the library.

Thanks Terence. Unfortunately the new library has the same issues!

Thanks Eric, unfortunately the rebuild made no difference.

Is it ML 10.8.4 or  iPhoto 9.4.3 or the combination of them that's the problem?

I tend to think it is iPhoto since my iPhoto works.

You might want to try posting in the iPhoto community.

    https://discussions.apple.com/community/ilife/iphoto

    Quit the application.

You need to look in your user Library/Preferences/com.apple.iPhoto.plist for the .plist. Hold down the option key while using the Finder Go To Folder command. Enter ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iPhoto.plist.  Move the .plist to your desktop.

Open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist(s) from the desktop.

If the application is the same, return the .plist(s) to where you got them from, overwriting the newer ones.

If you prefer to make your user library permanently visible, use the Terminal command found below.

You might want to bookmark the command. I had to use it again after I installed 10.8.4. I have also been informed that if you drag the user library to Finder it will remain visible.

    THANKS ERIC,

I HAD SOME OTHER ISSUES WITH CHANGING TO ML 10.8.4

Ronni at WAMUG ==West Auatralian MacUsers Group gave me this advice

IT SOLVED ALL ISSUES ,SO I WON'T NEED TO GO INTO iPHOTO NOW.

Thank you though for your advice

I would suggest you Repair Permissions, Repair Drive and download the combo update and install that.

    Repair Drive in Mountain Lion:

    1. Reboot the Mac and hold down Command+R to boot into Recovery

    2. Select “Recovery HD” at the boot menu

    3. At the Mac OS X Utilities screen, select “Disk Utility”

    4. Select the boot volume or partition from the left menu and click on the “Repair” tab

    5. Repair Disk is now possible, click on “Repair Disk” to repair the boot volume

IT SOLVED ALL ISSUES ,SO I WON'T NEED TO GO INTO iPHOTO NOW.
